Voice chat audio issues

My audio works fine in the main menu for valorant, but as soon as I join a game, the sound gets incredibly muffled and hard to hear. However, after experimenting, I figured out that turning off voice chat (not party chat), makes my audio come back.
I want to play with voice chat, to give comms though. Does anyone know a solution? (I've already tried every input/output device on Valorant together)
