Dance hall songs & their classical music counterparts
I'm a big classical music nerd so I wanted to create a list of dance hall songs that take clear inspo from specific classical pieces! If there's a song that I missed, please let me know and I'll add it to the list :)

I appreciate this immensely. Say, would you happen to know what influenced the Flutter of Flora, by chance?
This is the one song that I've been having so much trouble finding
I genuinely have no idea, but I'll keep searching
I will also say for some reason there are notes or movements in Crimson Chronicle that make me think of Tchaikovsky for some reason, namely his work with sleeping beauty.
Thestrals kinda sounded like it was composed by Midnight Syndicate or Nox Arcana. If you haven’t heard of them, I definitely recommend their music if you’re into the spooky vibe. It very well could be a mix between the two.
I thought the main theme sounds a bit like Ma Vlast
But that is not dance related
I definitely see the similarities there
Oh my 😍
Hmm?
Only now discovered this thread :PotaLove:
All I ask is how and why was that out of pocket intro and outro for knight and witch needed?
Also, Why doesn’t Cassandra have her dance hall skin yet?
It’s the running move for me. Like why 😭
I think that’s a card skin
Yeah but she also dances in it…why can’t we global users have nice things?
Yeah the whole dance felt like a skit or pantomime instead of a dance
Yes! We have it, but you need her card skin to have her dance in it.
It’s still cute though! I like the music
I have the card skin, but no dance skin…should I contact support
I think so yes
Oh wait, I don't see it there either. Usually it's there, but locked.
Winged Wonders doesn't come with a bag.
Just saw your message in club chat :3
Looks like Cassandra doesn’t have her skin outfit
But Lottie has hers.

It's worth emailing support over this though.

I was going to say. That feels rigged.
Yeah
I’m still cackling. Broom pose for girls, why 😭🤣
I wonder if their studios need cleaners
Thank you for the reminder to update this!
7. The knight and the witch is based on have yourself a merry little Christmas. I find it to be most similar to the Carpenters’ version, which is also my personal favorite

Deer bell’s leap is like a weird combo of Rudolph the red nosed reindeer and jingle bells. Not posting links to those songs since I don’t care about them enough

It sounds like Haydn? I don't know if that is a clavier or harpsichord...
Like between baroque and classical
I did some searching and it seems to be based off of Vivaldi's chamber concerto in d minor, with the hogwarts concerto being in a major key instead.

Flutter of Flora has Chinese origin. I’ll have to search again but I thought I had found its inspo a while ago. Will post when I find it again.
Please do! That would be very helpful
This made me so happy as a fellow musician! Best thread 10/10 🎻🥁🎺🎸
Curious to hear if any jazz musicians here have found potential counterparts for Caramel Amour or the Knight and the Witch, both are quite fun to play on the flute ♫ ♪
