Start a topical news-gathering newsletter with us! (Medium-Big)
Hi y'all!
I'm a team member of OAISIS, a pre-launch non-profit that we've been working on for around 9 months. We focus on supporting individuals working at the frontier of AI who want to raise their concerns about safety and (dis-)honesty.
As a part of our offering, we want to launch a regular (likely bi-weekly or weekly) newsletter covering (order of priority)
1. Journalism ONLY based on insider sources
2. Updates to whistleblower laws
3. Highlight transparency or intransparency by frontier labs
Such a newsletter does not exist today as far as we know (if there is one, please let me know!). We believe it could be very valuable for
1. Cultural change: Spreading the word on how common it is for insiders to speak up
2. Education: Allow people to easily stay up to date on what is happening 'inside' frontier labs
3. Audience building for our 'core services': Can share more with you 1:1, to be launched later this year
For that, we're looking for one or multiple individuals...
- Passionate about staying on top of the newest developments in AI
- Ideally some background/ focus on journalism
- Who enjoy publishing, responsibility, and working in a team
...to start and run this newsletter with us!
You'll be part of our (currently) 4 people team of volunteers working out of Berlin.
We can shape your role together, which can range from:
- Collecting, reading, and selecting news for specific news sub-categories
to
- Editorial responsibility of the complete newsletter
- Multi-channel delivery of the newsletter
- Growing our subscriber base
Given that this will be a regular newsletter with consistent work every week, it would be great if you could imagine contributing time on a regular basis. If not, but you like the project -> we can see if we can find another role for you!
And lastly, if you have experience launching newsletters then we'd of course also be super interested to ask you questions!
