Screen Tearing AMDGPU, failed to login using X11/Wayland and Cinnamon, but, works on Wayland & GNOME
I have screen tearing on an AMDGPU and have installed, and use, Cinnamon and X11. I created /etc/X11/xorg.d.conf/20-amdgpu.conf:
Section "Device"
Identifier "AMD Graphics"
Driver "amdgpu"
Options "TearFree" "true"
EndSection
When I rebooted, X11 crashed immediately. As a side note, I don't like GNOME (KDE even less), partly because Steam games cannot be used in windowed mode, regardless of what I try and crash on an ALT-TAB. And Wayland doesn't seem to be at feature parity with X11.
