`Registrant State/Province` and `Registrant Country` not redacted

I just ran a whois on my domains and in both cases those two fields are not redacted, but they are for the administrative and technical ones. What's up with that?

basically for most tlds the country and state arent required to be redacted in the admin contact and when serving RDAP (a modern replacement for whois) its not realistically possible to redact them at all different registrars have different opinions on how this should be interpreted, Cloudflares interpretation appears to be to leave those fields unredacted the trouble with vague tld registry policies is they get interpreted differently by everyone and it's hard to tell who is right

no because the fields are still required at the registry, its just whether they can be redacted that registrars disagree on cloudflare requires the fields and doesnt redact them so theres not a lot you can do to prevent it besides not use cloudflare for registering domains for that tld (but be careful because another registrar may do the same thing) its also worth noting that these policies vary by tld, so if you tried a different tld it may have different requirements e.g. my domain erisa.uk is fully redacted because the registry for UK domains decided thats how it should be
