POV: you're invited to a holiday party and the dress code is "festive attire"; what are you wearing? How do you balance being recognizably on theme with your own personal aesthetic? Is it worth buying anything specific for such an occasion?

Not worth buying a specific outfit for the event, I would get away with a sweater and depending on the holiday
Christmas sweater, the dumber the better

new year's eve is a nightmare because I have no white clothes
Of all the fun goofy seasonal year, I usually try to have a Halloween costume and then disappointed that I don't have something really nice and festive for December
I think Christmas sweaters as a genre are great
