How to use keyboard shortcuts in game mode

I have a script that changes the TDP (via the HHD local webserver). I have bound that script to keyboard shortcuts in desktop mode, and it works exactly like I want it to.

However, the keybord shortcuts don't seem to carry over to game mode. How can I assign a keyboard shortcut to run a script from game mode?
