So confused by the backup

So I have a pretty vanilla installation of immich and I'm trying to backup my phone's Photos (stored on device and in iCloud) to immich. I have about 30,000 pics and vids. Start the backup telling it to use the Recent (all) album. At first the numbers make sense... Total looks accurate, Backup starts at 0 and goes up as Remainder starts at Total and goes down. When Remainder finally gets to 0 I think I'm done but then it starts backing up some more even tho Remainder is 0. I also notice it has 5000+ duplicates in Advanced Settings but I know for a fact my iCloud library has no duplicates (Photos app will tell you and better third party apps are used to check it) Now it is uploading and I have no idea when it will stop, if it is duplicating files on the server or uploading the same files over and over....

Did you previously populate the instance from other sources?

nope it was empty when i started the backup from my phone

so you have loads of duplication from your phone library?

not according to Photos app or PhotoSweeper 3rd party app... no exact duplicates in the library

Please connect to your instance over local IP. Then go to Advanced Settings > Clear Duplicate. After that, please run the upload process again

okay I'll try that... I am on-prem with the server but will use a local address instead of my pubilc static IP that worked like a charm... didnt back up anything else after i cleared the duplicates
