Small post sorry, What's this haircut called?

Is it achievable through a cut or do you do some sort of routine for it? And what if that's the case. Ty in advance <3

If you want this cut just show it to your stylist. That's always the best avenue. They are the professionals and can take a look at your hair and see what's possible This person likely did exactly that as well

It's a bit of a shag/mullet mix. Rawbert is right, talk to a stylist and they'll give you advice. Tho I'd try to find one that has experience with these cuts and your kind hair texture It's not really fun when a stylist is not realistic with what can be done with your hair and their abilities, and at the end you come out disappointed

Yeah not mine but I'll pass it on, think he's just afraid of being judged šŸ˜… Any way to find what a stylist is experienced with? Can't just go knocking and asking right, esp since a lot of people who don't know will probably still say yes to get a customer?

I'd probably google <city> shag mullet haircut and maybe reddit My pithy answer is find the neighbourhood with all the people with mullets in em and look at the salon igs

most salon websites will include stylist bios so you can see what each person specializes in, and consultations are generally complimentary

Yeah there are a handful of salons in my city that are THE shag/mullet spots - that's good advice midi

depending on this person's hair type & lifestyle they may need a specific routine to maintain the shape & texture pictured. Also, wolf cuts/shag are pretty low maintenance, but they still require regular salon visits like any other cut

also what is a regular visit? I know I seem super stupid rn but I am in no way a fashion gal I just do a cut then let my hair go while, matches my style T-T sorry

Nah no worries, regular being whatever makes sense for their goals. I had a shag for most of last year and then I grew it out because I wanted smth new, so the shag shape just isn't as defined anymore. If I wanted to maintain that shape, I would have had to go in monthly/every 2 months for a touch up

This is why I don’t do hair. When I look up shag/mullet I find those, that look really similar, plus ā€œshaggy mulletā€ and a lot of wolf cuts, which all look different. And I feel like there’s some lingo I’m not getting

images, then words are the best way to communicate both fashion & hair imo. If your friend brings images of cuts they like and says "i want a shag cut like this" then that'll be more than enough to get the ball rolling

Yeah definitely use a pic, tbh I barely know the difference between a shag and a wolfcut

ime the difference is how online the stylist is lmao

Yeah I’ve never heard anyone ever mention a wolf cut irl tbh Might just be me Absolutely, and I like that this doesn’t have a huge… I don’t know what it’s called in English lol. Forehead hair? Like the curtains hanging down. This is a bit more nice and ā€œdiscreetā€ imo
