Can't upload a video, upload hangs forever
Hello everyone!
I have set up Immich for myself and my parents, but a video (size of 640.96 MB) from my father's phone isn't able to be uploaded, and the entire upload process gets stuck.
The error in the logs is:
What can I do?
(He is on Android, app version 1.123.0 build 172)

If this ticket can be closed you can use the /close
command, and re-open it later if needed.Hello, what is the URL being used in the mobile app?
It's a domain that's being translated to a local ip when under the home's wifi
Immich is behind Traefik
This is probably due to a traefik or networking configuration issue
Immich is not known to have any problems with large videos
You should look into the max body size and timeouts
I don't know if it's particularly the size of the file the point of the issue, I mentioned it because it takes (relatively) a long time to transfer each time so I noticed it more
https://doc.traefik.io/traefik/middlewares/http/buffering/ You mean this?
I never changed it, but it's default is 0, which I believe means without limit
Traefik Buffering Documentation - Traefik
The HTTP buffering middleware in Traefik Proxy limits the size of requests that can be forwarded to Services. Read the technical documentation.
I’m not sure since I don’t use traefik
I just know when we see these issues it’s always been related to the network / proxy in some way
I'm setting the label right now as we speak, let me see if it solves the issue (is
5368709120
a reasonable byte size?)
Same thing
Let me try bypassing traefik and putting ip:port
It seems to have worked (even tho now it's at 100% for a while and the button below is still "Cancel" - I have it in Italian so I'm not sure if it's the same)If it’s the last file I think it just shows that
Okay I invested some time and configured nginx as a proxy, let's see if in the future it does the same thing, in the meanwhile: thank you 🙂
my experience with large file upload failing is also because of the reverse proxy, I used nginx, problem is fixed after adding client_max_body_size
web-proxied
for reference)
Apparently it started giving errors about redis' lack of authentication:
Any ideas?🤣 error message seems to indicate problem with redis indeed
Yeah bad case of bad memory haha
