Filename and path with non ASCII characters not scanned

Hi, I am from Czechia and I have a lot of photos and folders named with non ASCII characters like ěščřžýáíé. If there are some of these charaters in folder name, it's just ignored and not picked up by Immich at all. If these characters are in filename, there is an error like this: ERROR [Microservices:LibraryService] File not found: /photo/2016/2016-02-18 Da?k jdelna.jpg I set location in env to TZ=Europe/Prague and I am using latest v1.123.0

Hello, what operating system are you using and what is the filesystem of the external library?

Hi, I am running it on Ubuntu 24.04, external library is mounted through SMB from Synology (btrfs)

As far as I know immich handles these characters in external libraries with no issue. I suspect a SMB issue You can test with a locally mounted folder

You were right, when I upload an image with these characters straight to Immich, it is picked up just fine, but it's because original filename was changed by Immich 😕

FIY this is the same file that threw previous error

That's just the default storage path, you can enable the storage template to normalize the filenames but I meant to test it with a local external library, on the same filesystem

Yeah, I know, I think the problem is that SMB/CIFS mount. When I create file with those characters manualy, it shows them correctly, but not on that mount 😕 I tryied to set iocharset for that mount, but that happens to be unknown parameter for CIFS mount for some reason.. I have the same folder mounted on another linux machine with same locale settings and there it is showing up correctly and I cannot find much of a difference between these mounts Problem solved, I needed to run this command on my Immich server sudo apt install --no-install-recommends linux-image-extra-virtual Thanks for help @Zeus , much appreciated
