Need help determining device ID
Hello, I need help determining the device id of my phone so I can re-connect the sync from my phone to a duplicate recents album. My phone has begun re-syncing all photos to a duplicate album after upgrading to iOS 18.2.

Can you take a new photo, then select it and upload it to your Immich instance?
then from the web interface, select that photo to view
Then you can change the URL to
http://your-ip:2283/api/assets/<asset-id>
so in my case it looks like this /api/assets/107381d9-5a2c-494e-a7f8-4b5098fd4ce8
From there you can search for deviceId
, note that down
then do the same for a photo that was uploaded previously
check to make sure that the deviceId
value between the two assets is differentThis is super weird. I've checked and the deviceID is the same in both recents albums across every picture or video I've checked. Any other ideas? I'm happy to provide any necessary logs, configurations etc.
Can you take a new photo and upload it then check if the newly taken photo has the same deviceId?
I just took a picture, uploaded it via the phone and its still the same ID
Do you mind posting the ids of the one you just took vs the one that were uploaded a while back?
Sure
Sure, this is the ID of the one that was taken about 5 or 6 minutes ago: c2d160c312cd331aa338811a6a2b577e341da7ad501a1d5ae809f952d0bfe4cc
This is the ID of one that was taken and uploaded several days ago before my phone started re-syncing: c2d160c312cd331aa338811a6a2b577e341da7ad501a1d5ae809f952d0bfe4cc
hmm
is there any more details I can share that isn't sensitive to share here?
other ids etc?
I am thinking how can this happen 😅
Can you help me check in the App Settings > Advanced > Duplicate Asset, do you see any count there?
i show 592 duplicate assets in this screen currently.
Can you show the capture of the backup screen again?
Ah can you help me run this
http://localip:2283/api/assets/device/c2d160c312cd331aa338811a6a2b577e341da7ad501a1d5ae809f952d0bfe4cc
see if it returns anythingYes, the total and remainder are both counting down. The first time it all synced, it seemed like the total remained around 16400 and then the remainder went down as the backup went up.
here are screenshots

going to api/assets/device, I see lots of results. Approximately 129 pages if I were to print it to PDF.
okay
so it returns correctly
yeah
no errors
Can you restart the stack with
docker compose down && docker compose pull && docker compose up
?
Then re-enter the backup screen again
After that, can you help me grab the mobile app log and share it heresure thing, give me a few min
Thanks, I will follow up this thread in the morning
sorry for the inconvenient
some edge case bug here
no problem, I'll send the logs and check back in the mornign too 🙂
have a great night
Hmm lots of error of getting the files
what the heck there
like the apple database about the files are all corrupted somehow
Yes, weird indeed. They seem fine on the phone itself though
Hmm, do you mind restart the phone?
I’ve tried that 😀
oh man
