Escape from Monkey Island CD error (GOG)

Hi guys!
I've got an issue with Escape from Monkey Island. When launching there is always a dialog popping up with the message "Please make sure that the game is properly installed and that the CD is in your drive." and then then game quits.
I've installed the latest Heroic version from Discover.

can you try using the appImage of heroic? I think it's a flatpak permissions issue when that happens

I did try the appimage. Installed the game in a temporary directory. When I clicked on "Play" it's starting to install the redistributables but gets stuck–even the mouse stops working.

Can you try using the latest wine-ge instead of proton experimental? I just tried the game on my steamdeck and it worked just fine, that's the main difference I see comparing your log with mine

Now I remember. I tried it with wine on arch linux (with Hyprland) and the pacman installation of Heroic. I need to test this later, too. Maybe there isn't the latest and greatest wine-ge installed.

So, on arch I need to use proton-ge-latest otherwise there was no sound.

After uninstalling and installing the game on the SteamDeck for fun, I had the original "CD" issue again with wine-ge-latest. Switch to proton-ge-latest worked. I mark it as solved. Thanks again.
