Desktop (Nvidia) freezing randomly while watching stuff

Several times in the last few hours, I've been watching streaming stuff and the video freezes while the audio continues, and then a few seconds later the audio also cuts out. I cannot close anything, Ctrl+Alt+Del, or any other trick to unfreeze it. I have to manually restart my PC.

Is this a known issue? Is there anything I can do?
