Usecase: Data storage goes offline
What happens when the data storage goes offline?
Usecase:
Container running on a VM hosted on proxmox. Storage is a nas drive.
What happens if the Nas is rebooted and the storage is disconnected? Is there a recovery after the Nas is back online and connected? What happens in the meantime?
I have not yet decided to use immich because of those questions 😊

If this ticket can be closed you can use the /close
command, and re-open it later if needed.Immich will fail to start if the mount point isn’t available on boot
If it drops while running, that’s more of a docker question than an immich question. It would be on the sysadmin to make sure mounts are healthy
E.g. depending containers should be stopped before storage goes offline
The thing is I want to connect my Nas share (CIFS) to the VM where immich should be running in the future. And the Nas could go offline, I just want to make sure that my Immich DB or some files get corrupted and are not repairable.
Well you should never use the network share for the database
It won’t cause corruption. Possibly a few files may need re uploading
Of course! Never the DB. Only for the images and videos.
Ok that should be fine. Thank you 😊👍
