KDE Plasma started defaulting to 144hz which is breaking my display

did a fresh install of Bazzite. Nvidia. ive done so in the past and not had this issue. and i have installed it multiple times and the issue persists. i'm connecting to a 65 inch 144 hz tv. but for whatever unknown to me reason, any time i try to run any linux distro at 144 hz my display breaks. completely freezes and half of it becomes static this usually isnt an issue as i can simply keep the refresh rate at 120hz and that has no issues, but recently, bazzite kde has started defaulting to 144 hz and i can't do anything to fix it. aside from turning off my tvs game mode which fixes the refresh rate (defaults it to 60 like it used to) but deprives me of adaptive sync as well as significantly increases display input lag which is a not really a viable workaround
