Problems with Wine versions
Hello, I am trying to run the GoG version of Grim Dawn.
Upon first starting up Heroic Launcher, I set the wine version to one of the proton ones that was installed because of steam, however upon starting a game it would instantly close and the logs would show an error about the steam api.
I then went in the Heroic Launcher Wine Manager section and downloaded Wine-GE from there, then set it to be the wine version to use in my installed games settings.
Now when launching, I instead get a FileNotFound error on the subfolder of /home/deck/.var/app for heroic launcher, attempting to start the bin/wine binary from the downloaded Wine-GE version, however navigating to the folder listed in the error, I can see bin/wine as downloaded by Heroic.
How can I get Heroic Launcher to see the version of Wine-GE it downloaded?

steam api errors can be ignored, they dont mean anything
post full log
you have to set the wine version in your game settings

Here is the log setting the wine version to Wine-GE-Proton8-26 as downloaded from the wine manager

in both cases the game immediately shuts as soon as i press play in Heroic

you dont have nvidia hardware, disable nvapi

I get the same tails of the logs disabling that option

sure but it would cause other issues anyway
delete the prefix for this game, make sure umu is turned on and use the proton-ge-latest you grabbed, and run it again

I get this running with umu enabled and proton-ge-latest

you can add this to your environment variables for the game and then post a new log
