Hogwarts Legacy - I changed graphic settings and now game crashes after first splash screen

Hello, I played for first hour and then I wanted to experiment with some graphic quality settings. I changed the "upscale type" from AMD to Intel andnow it won;t work.
Is there a way to "undo changes" without reinstalling the game?

so maybe try looking for those files inside the whisky prefix/bottle, maybe there's something you can change there

Thanks for a hint! It finally worked, but not right away

Changing values in the .ini file did nothing. The file alwawys overwrite tha data to "old one" / not working one.
I wanted to change graphic qualityvalues from 3 to 1, and put "false" for upscaling.
I had to change the files "read and write" permission properties to "read only" and after that game run.
While being in the game I changed the permission to ini file back to read and write.

The problem was this Intel upscale method. With AMD FSR 1 or 2 it works well. Rest of graphic options can be set to ultra.

Hi, this is unrelated but I was hoping you might be able to share an older manifest file for Hogwarts Legacy from the legendary folder.

Currently, the only way to play HogWarp (multiplayer) is to downgrade to an older game version because there will not be an update for a while.

This is easy to do on Steam but almost impossible from the Epic Games Launcher version. There is a possible way but it needs the older version’s manifest file from the game folder.

But it's easier if you used heroic games launcher because the manifest files are usually saved

I don't know exactly where the location would be but you can search in a file manager or terminal for any of these from before October 2025 until february 2025:

Not sure the exact location on macOS but possibly something simiilar to ~/.var/app/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl/config/heroic/legendaryConfig/legendary/manifests~/.var/app/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl/config/heroic/legendaryConfig/legendary/manifests

but you can just search those exact manifest files in Finder
