Sifu annoying message
After a few minutes of playing, this message appears and my controller and keyboard stop responding. Pressing Back or Confirm just closes the message but my keyboard/controller is still unresponsive. Have to close the game and relaunch it.
Using Debian 12 and umu (Proton-GE latest).

I recommend against it, and I usually stop assisting those who opt into it

it's basically the last thing you want to do with prefixes, is mix them. each prefix is relatively small, and when combined they cause problems for the different programs that use it

I haven't used it for any other game at the moment so thanks for the info. I guess I'll just move it than to a sub-directory.
I notcied my application Firewall was blocking "wine64-preloader" and "wineserver" so I allowed them. So far I haven't gotten the message. Perhaps that fixed it. However, will I be able to play this offline? It is single player afterall.

that's a game to game thing, if it requires being signed in to save, then probably not

so I guess it would have to be modded in some way to allow it
I checked the Events in my Firewall and it sas:

It sends it to "live.tracking.sloclap.net".
It also sends it to "api.epicgames.dev" which I would guess is the authentication but the "tracking" thing worries me (for privacy reasons as it is Linux world).

heroic doesnt do any tracking
your games on the other hand could
sloclap is the developer of sifu btw
and when you start it up it tells you its doing tracking and you can disable it
granted not every game lets you opt out of tracking, and most games that have their own launchers track the crap out of you
also note: achievements are also a form of tracking that developers/publishers use
but yeah most modern games have telemetry baked in
