Soldering a parallel port
How do i solder a parallel port that doesn’t have sockets for a cable as pins

The one on the right has sockets for cables to be soldered, the parallel on the left only has pins
Just a matter of cutting the wires the same length. Strip, twist strands together. Tin wire and pin. Place together and apply very small amount solder.
Can i do that with 22 gauge single core wire (thats what I have)?
yes you can use solid core
the one on the left is designed for PCB mounting so it's trickier to solder to but it can be done
strip the wires to the exact length, and cover them with heat shrink tubing when you are done
no soldering ?
no, they definitely need to be soldered
like this ?
yes but only strip the wire the length of the pin, you don't want bare copper past the pin (it might short out)

alright i see thanks
