Infinity Nikki

So I managed to install the Infinity Nikki launcher, at first I had the Microsoft Visual C++ Runitme error so I added vcrun2022 through the Winetricks but now when I click on Game Update it tries to calculate the download size then just stops and the button gets back to the clickable Game Update I've added the game log as text file (too big to pass as text) If anyone has a workarround, an idea or a solution to make infinity Nikki work on Ubuntu that would be amazing

just so you know, people have reported that the anticheat doesn't work on linux desktop, only seems to work on the steam deck https://areweanticheatyet.com/?search=infinity+nikki&sortOrder=&sortBy= looks like the anticheat detects when it's running on steamdeck (even if the game is not on steam) and allows it to run, but nowhere else for linux a user here references an infinity nikki discord https://discord.com/channels/812703221789097985/1314377876723728424/1316696858554269746

to make it more limiting, it seems to only work on SteamOS on Steam Deck. alternative distros on the Deck will not work

well, you shouldn't be installing SteamOS on non-Deck hardware

linus tech tips released a video a few days ago about testing steamos on a not-steamdeck pc, he mentions all the things you should consider and the requirements of the hardware

if you need a printer dont use steamos yet :kek:

raise your cups to that

also, coding on steamos is really annoying with the need of flatpaks for everything, like... you need a flatpak for github, another flatpak for credentials, another flatpak for your editor, and then connect and run them as needed I tried once for heroic purposes and it works, but it's annoying

distrobox is baked in now, so that could potentially make that part a little easier than relying on flatpaks

also won't let you format your disk with partitions, it will think you are using a steamdeck, it probably has a lot of flaws as a daily computer

the installer also isn't really an installer in the usual sense. it just reimages your storage device with the 8 partitions that SteamOS uses.
