Issues with Patreon & Ko_Fi bot roles through discord

Ok so, when I sync the discord server with my account to link the server for Ko-Fi and set up the role sync, it seems to assign the roles in discord, but when a player logs in or relogs, it removes the roles. It feels like something in discordsrv or luckperms is taking away the roles and superseding discord, but I can't figure out what.
The only major change was I changed out the custom bot in the developer portal used for discordsrv, as the old bot was from the previous owner and I didnt have any control over it - but I followed the instructions on discordsrv's setup page exactly. and I dont know where else to go with this
