Only first admin can delete external library images
Hi, i have two user, me who uses the admin login and my wife's account i have created later. I have changed her user in postgresql to admin - isAdmin set to true.
Still, it is only me with the "admin" login who can delete any external library images. See screenshots.

Hello, this is interesting but not sure how we can help you as we do not officially support multi admin at this time
how was the external library added to your wife?
Being admin doesn't have any influence on asset permissions
I did check, we are both using the same version of the android app and all the settings are equal inside the app
I added the external library through admin settings from desktop. The directory is mounted into the docker and I processed the images from the web interface, not cli
I Think bootz is saying you need to add the library to both accounts. Only one of you actually "owns" the assets. Admins can't delete assets owned by another user still

i see.. so I should login with my wife's account and add the same external library?
You don't need to login to hers. Just add a new library, set her as the owner and duplicate the import path. (This will duplicate all generated assets for all files)
when you say duplicate assets is it going to genererate all the thumbnails and everything again or is it self aware that much so it just skips every image
because i'm already storing like 100Gb of thumbnails, I wish not to duplicate it
Unfortunatley that functionality is not there. It will duplicate, thumbs, encoded videos and such
i dont think this should be a feature, multiple owners for an external library should be a feature
is there such feature request open?
An entire rework of permissions and asset ownership is already open, which this would probably cover
can i change the owner in postgres without reindexing the entire thing? It burns my server for 5 days
You "probably" can, not sure what it would affect and unfortunately would make your install unsupported at that point
i will try, worst case is i have to add the library again 🤷
Worst case is the entire immich install breaks
If all you have is the library that’s your call
i have daily backup
no problem
let's see
heh... worked 😄
