Ain my notes, 2 years ago I tested this game using Wine-GE and it worked out of the box, maybe try that? doesn't hurt to try

Djust tried this game, i have a similar system

With a fresh install and prefix, this game did not work with proton-ge + umu, but it worked fine out of the box with wine-ge. I didnt change any config settings.
