If you look at the source for the former official one you'll see it's really only a very small layer over what Supabse provides out of the box

@tanwen9262 perhaps you could mention what your goal is, but janglad is not wrong, there's really nothing stopping you from using supabase-js and a context provider or similar. I'm not sure why you would do it but you also didnt mention your stack

Yes, i can use a context provider but this libraries have a lot already built in, much easier to use

Are you using the app router? If so and using RSC's i would not recommend it.
Much simpler to let the server state be the single source of truth, unless you have some hyper interactive feature somewhere on the page the aforementioned might be suitable for that feature in isolation

you could have that as an RSC where each cell is it's own composable client component with optimistic updates but if you run clientside calculations etc then i'd probably create a context as mentioned, it's what 20 mins work, you're just lazy i reckon
