Chinos under $100 that aren't stretchy
Think this would be an easy task but apparently not. Losing weight and need to replace some pants. Not yet done so don't want to invest in quality until my weight/shape stabilizes. Looking for chinos under $100, but ideally even less. Currently looking for two shades of grey (charcoal, mid) and more of a slim/regular fit, but a range of color options would be nice.
I do not know when we entered the "everything must be leggings" era of menswear but virtually all your basic brands have 2-5% elastane in their chinos now from what I can tell. Gap, BR, Old Navy, Bonobos, J Crew, Uniqlo....the list goes on. In some cases it MAY just be the waistband but I see no obvious way to tell. If truly limited to just the waistband that's OK, but find even a small amount in the body completely changes the feel/breathability of the fabric in ways I don't like. Any suggestions to help me shortcut a series of buys/returns? Either truly 100% cotton or that you can confirm look/feel like they don't stretch?
Also....what is with the elastane love? I find it hard to believe this cuts costs and likely complicates manufacturing. I don't get the impression others here love stetch-y but I guess the general public does?
