Recipe for Disasters crashing after few seconds - Mac

I read the other articles first and tried the EOS Overlay solution (later realising it was for linux not macOS) and couldn't find the option to allow it for the game on the 3 dots (probably because of the linux not macOS thing). Also tried running it with the other crossover/wine Versions: 1. Game-Porting-Toolkit-latest: Closes after few seconds (my last try so log probably refers to that) 2. GPTK Ststem (DX11/DX12 Only) - wine 7.7 - (Game Porting Toolkit 1.1): Closes after seconds 3. Wine Crossover 23.7.1-1: Didn’t open, something about DirectX Graphics (photo attached) 4. Whiskey 2.3.4: Closes after seconds and as you see none worked. Any other suggestion on what to try?

Enable the auto installation of DXVK

if you use crossover you have to turn on dxvk yeah

also make sure the EOS overlay is enabled, should prevent that crash while starting (in general settings > advanced to install it if needed, then the 3-dots menu in the game page > enable EOS overlay if disabled)

I have installed EOS Overlay, but I don't see the enable EOS Overlay on the 3 dot menu. Enabling the autoinstallation of DXVK didn't fix it (attaching the log file from after that try too in case it helps)

So I closed and reopend heroic, tried opening the game again, I don't know if I did anything else wrong, but now only the crossover option opens and closes within seconds and the other 3 (Game Porting Toolking, GPTK, Whiskey) don't actually open and all show the attached photos. It didn't actually let me save it so I copied it and saved it as txt myself (attached). This txt is from trying the Game Porting Toolkit but the all do the same thing, just saying in case the txts differ.

when you change between crossover/gptk/whisky you should probably delete the prefix folder so it's recreated for that translation layer hmmm it looks like the Enable EOS Overlay button only shows up on linux, not sure if that's correct, sounds like a bug in heroic to me

ok thx, so that fixed the "not even opening" of these 3. So now all 4 options have the same problem of "opening and closing within seconds". I don't know if you need the log of any of the 4, don't what to just throw all the logs to you if you don't want them, so let me know what I can do/send to help. So maybe thats the issue I guess? Is there anything I could do via the terminal or some other way maybe? Or send the heroic logs instead of the game ones / "open" a new support discussion about that? I also want to say big thanks for helping out, i appreciate it!

I'm not sure what's the issue now, I'm looking at the code and even if the Enable EOS Overlay button doesn't show up, it should be enabling it automatically anyway since you deleted the prefix I'll try this again later on my intel mac if I have time to see if I get the same error

is this the first time you run that game? it looks like the EOS Overlay doesn't work on mac, but I know from my notes that the overlay is needed at least the first time when the game wants to connect with your epic account and it uses the overlay for that so one solution could be to run the game once in a windows or linux machine so the overlay works and connect the game to your account, then it should not crash anymore

Yeah its the first time... Ok I'll run it in a few days when I'll have my old windows pc available and I'll let you know if it worked. Thanks for the help! So it took a lot of days to go back to my pc and actually run the game, but after running it once on windows, now it works on mac!! Thank you very much for your help!! Unfortunate that you need a windows pc but at least we found a solution!! Thanks again!!!
