Division 2 no longer starts after today's update
The Ubisoft launcher is crashing it seems when it says "The Division 2 ... initializing". I'm trying to find some relevant logs if possible.

the log is complaining about the lack of
libgcc_s.so.1, so install the gcc-lib package associated with that one

that looks it might be a wine dependency issue as well
Install Wine Dependencies by following this guide
If this does not immediately resolve your issue, you might also have to delete your Wineprefix (by default it's in
~/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/<game name>)

Wine & Proton don't work after the update
After updating yesterday I’ve noticed nothing that requires Wine or Proton doesn’t start. Steam (native) doesn’t launch as well. I’ve noticed that going back solves the issue for me. I completely uninstalled the game and removed the dir it was installed in. I reinstalled but unfortunately to no avail. I think the devs broke something today with the season update.

I don't feel like the wine error is directly related to the game
but weirder things have happened
the folder it's installed in is separate from the prefix folder
after deleting the prefix, it'll automatically be regenerated
(back up saves as needed)

I'll delete the prefix but this should have been done by Heroic when uninstalling the game.
Prefix dir has been deleted
Now it is patching Uplay
Restarting Uplay
Crash when Uplay is trying to start the game
Apparently the update of the game also carries a new version of EAC.

i used to work on the pc team for division 2, which a part of it does the anti cheat haha i used to sit in the room where the folks that maintain it work :thonk: i wonder if i could poke them
a good chunk of folks dont work there anymore tho so maybe its all new people now

to be clear im pretty sure nothing would change hahh
each store front typically has a different build of the game (this is just in general)
like the steam api and everything is part of steam builds of a game, but generally not shipped as part of the gog version
so its super likely that if a game works in steam, its specifically the steam build that contains a fix
(if its a game side problem anyway)
if its just a matter of having the right dll, in theory you could use it in other apps outside of steam

Ah okay. I installed Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime from Steam and pointed to it as a variable in Heroic, but that doesn't work either. Which is kinda obvious after your explanation.
