CPU specs?
hes looking to buy
So?
id assume people who would look for hosts dont know much for cpu specs
the general list i gave is quite good
Ah
well
hey
Does he need host? vps? dedi?
we dont know that for sure tho
How many cores?
:hmm:
host, 4+ cores, 16gb not needed exactly. 12gb yes
pack decently optimized 4+ cores can do it. 6 is perfect over is better
12gb should be great for their use
thanks for the recommendations
specs I want
4 cores
16 gb ram
256gb ssd
mm thats quite a big storage
I just thought that was normal
8kx8k on most big packs is like 40-60gb
whats agood size
120gb+ is normal roughly
lil less lil more
so 80-140 is a good ballpark
yessir
alright so
4+ cores
16 gb ram
80-140 gb ssd
is a good blueprint?
yep yep
alright thank you
so Im looking at pebble hosting and it looks to be crazy cheap for
8 core cpu
16gb ddr4
is there something im missing?

the cpu is bit EH but better then most hosts
for budget
its great
oh right
for the premium plan it adds an additional spec called threads, is that something I should understand?

its also shared cpu usage
so you + everyone else on the machine gets used
oh ok
dedicated threads. you get 5 threads to use for yourself
ok so is that enough, for 5-6 people?
yep
just a final check, to get your point of view does this look good for my requirements of 5-6 people using ATM10 on mc version 1.21.1

yep its good
oo pebble has split servers? dope
alright thank you for all your help you made this a lot easier than the last time I did this
np
looking to do another atm10 server with 4 people, do those specs still look good or should i get some additional threads
Yes
they are fine
alright thank you
Got a ATM10 server on Enviro budget plan. Costing $8 and works pretty well for 3 players. Had like 2 lag spikes in the 5 hours I was on today so wasn't too bad
thank you for the first hand experience, I just recall we were having issues with loading chunks while playing so I paid for some additional threads
Yea, chunk generation is what caused the lag spikes for me too. Been thinking of seeing if I can up the threads as it does peek past the 200% CPU limit
yeah ram usually isnt the problem, just cpu being perma capped
If that’s your issue you can pregenerate the world using chunky. That way you basically use the time where no one is online to load all the chunks so when your players play, they only load the chunks, not generate them which is way less CPU intensive
Or is chunky not available for Forge?
ok, I will try that out
Thank you for the tip
