Ubisoft Connect crashes GNOME
When running Ubisoft Connect according to the guide using solution 1 (install Ubi via add app) everything works fine up until I launch it. Ubisoft Connect loads and as it is about to show the log in screen, everything lags terribly and gnome restarts. In the terminal it mentions that gpu-process exited with a failure code. I'm running Ubuntu 24 and tried multiple Protons as recommended in the guide, but all behave the same. After this incident, on restart Ubisoft Connect just refuses to launch.

Also, the guide mentions that we'll install a "dependency" and then never mentions what it meant, am I missing something here?

Here are the last few logs

These are either from failing to launch, failing to open a window or crashing gnome

If you really want ubisoft connect, run lutris and install it using one of their preconfigured scripts, I also use ubuntu 24.04 and can confirm this will work
what I cannot guarantee is that it will work with your hardware setup. although it does work with my hardware setup.

you mean in this guide https://github.com/Heroic-Games-Launcher/HeroicGamesLauncher/wiki/How-to-install-Ubisoft-Connect-on-Linux-and-Mac ?
when that guide mentions
dependencies
it means specific games may need fixes for that particular game and are not covered by that guide (since it depends on each game), like... at some point the assassin creeds needs some extra stuff to be installed
are you re-adding the Ubisoft Connect app to change wine types? because sometimes a wine-ge prefix won't work on proton-ge, or vice versa
