Games not launch through Heroic
Hello,
I was playing The Witcher 2 Enhanced edition from GOG through Heroic and today I'm not able to run.
Every time that I launch, I have the same Timeout error. I tried other installed games of Epic and have the same error.
I'm connected to Internet.

some users reported that disabling IPV6 fixes that issue
are you in europe? those users said there were common interpet provider changes that seem to be creating issues

But one question, the games downloaded and installed via Heroic need to be connected to Internet to launch? I guess that depends of the store, but for GOG games should not need internet, right?

depends on each game
GOG games are DRM free so most of them work offline but it's up to the developers of each game to decide if the game requires an internet connection or not
for epic games, most games have DRM or use some kind of connection to epic to get your user information (like username), but again it's up to each game to decide what to do there
though that error is happening on heroic's side, not in the game itself, but every time I see a report like that one, the error doesn't have enough information for me to understand where the error is originated :S (maybe it's heroic checking for game updates for example, I can't really tell from the error)
