Small adult workwear brands or sites?
I have a friend who is 5' 7" but ~100lbs. Men's sizes don't go small enough, and women's sizes are weirdly fitting and the XS still too big. Carhart overalls, for example, have small child sizes but then a missing gap before adult sizes. Are there sites or brands that carry workwear for this sort of size? Maybe 26x32 pants? 26x30? Natural waist around 25". Asian men workwear sites or brands?

Asian men are some of the largest men in the world
orslow womens line goes down to 26
Nothing in a men's cut?
I can’t think of anything that goes down to 25” in a men’s line
I feel like 29” is considered the smallest men’s size most of the time
is this like for work or just for style)
?*
For work
Maybe big bud press or suk workwear? Suk has a lot of pants options with waist adjusters. Both are unisex
there is definitely an overlap in childrens to mens clothing in workwear styles. what would kids in that gap be wearing?
BBP would be the best option imo
I'm bigger than him and I really need a 28 waist instead of 29 too.
What about brands that actually go up to 28 or 30 in boys without looking like kid clothes?
wdym looking like kid clothes?
kids clothes only look like that because they are smaller which is what you're looking for
If it's for a job I wouldn't advise wearing children's clothes, they're generally not built to last and judging by your previous criteria that's going to be a sticking point.
No, there is a lot about child clothes that are styled completely differently. There is the preponderance of "extras" too, like baubles or sequins due to regulations on making something impossible to sleep in or required to have flame retardants added due to being meant for children. It caused child clothing to be very odd. I know someone else who is even shorter who always struggled finding professional clothing because the workwear for children doesn't look like it is made for adults in the styling, and she is a woman so the cut on tops was also incongruous. Children often have different body types completely from adults, proportions especially; they aren't scaled short adults.
Belt
My grandpa wore kids clothes bc he was like 5’3 and he looked fine
In fact he looked old, like a grandpa
As a small waist guy I just accept that the average pair of pants is too wide for me and I just belt the hell out of it
In fact these very carhartts are 32s on my 28in waist

Yeah. I was hoping someone here might know of a brand that works for teens in manual labor - as teens are more often going to have the longer legs and smaller waists.
I need to look more but BBP looks like it may be more fashion than workwear/labor.
oh yeah childlabor.com has some good stuff
its built well enough to work in
This boggles me. I know SO MANY people, and even so many men, for whom 30 or 28 waist is their size or big and I can't wrap my head around why there are none to few options in this normal size range. Even climbing pants are terrible and I don't know any climbers who wouldn't be 32 or smaller waist.
As a man with a cunty wunty deluxe small petite iced coffee for breakfast waist I’d have to say just look in volume on the secondary market and sizing outliers will pop up
Workwear isn’t going to trend small generally as far as size runs go so this is a hard niche to work in
this is true. adapt is snatched.
Even just normal big store jeans though are impossible
I know climbers with waists over 32
Me too
as an asian im one of the largest people youll ever meet
buy the closest size possible and get it altered
This is true. Pinks could pick me up and put me in her pocket with ease

Or buy a belted pant and pull on the belt!
What about overalls
i think overall there are a lot of options
That's what he does, belts, but that changes how the fit sits and how much one can move in them. He asked me if I could find anything that would actually fit without tailoring or anything. It has been frustrating him that he can't find anything that fits and even went to a store 3 hours away for carhart overalls and got stuck with XS womens with a weird fit and still too big because the children ones didn't go big enough and womens and mens not small enough.
yeah, womens pants will have a roomier hip among other things so usually pretty hard to make work
That's actually how the convo I had with him started
and wedgie crotch
What about Kapital lumber pants
I think they come smaller than carhartts
I wear 26x32
Look for pants with a slightly longer rise and a shorter inseam then. That problem is not a womens sizing issue it’s a skill issue
I just get the waist tailored

There are a bunch
Gramicci with the self belt
okay well if your friend refuses to get anything altered then idk if they can be helped. I’m 5’5” and while I don’t have a small waist, there is still very little clothing that fits me the way I want it to off the rack. The reality is that clothing is not really made for adults with my height so most things get altered and I’m fine with that.
The XS in gramicci will fit 26 waist ez
Gramicci
Gramicci Pant
Style Number: G102-OGT The Original 1982 Gramicci Pants Made with 100% Organic Cotton Twill Features gusseted crotch for freedom-of-movement Easy-adjust waistband with integrated belt and buckle Zip fly with two side seam pockets and two back welt pockets Relaxed fit and low rise Inseam 32" Model - Height: 5'10" - Wea
Tailor or belt is always an option if something is worth it, but having nothing that just fits or no brand or store to try is exhausting, emotionally.

The 28 in dickies actually fits like a 26 especially after a wash: https://www.dickies.com/work-pants/original-874-work-pants/874.html

honestly though you can get the waist tailored for like $10
you can just buy whatever pants you like in the smallest size available and then take it to a tailor
in nyc it's $20 in Texas it was $10
It isn't employer-based. It is about what he needs for the job he has.

What is the job lol
If it's construction
He should really just buy work pants like dickies
that's what they're made for

so true
beautiful and true
I guess the title would be "freelancer" or "craftsman"?
Sometimes it is yard work, sometimes metalworking, sometimes construction, sometimes pottery, sometimes blacksmithing.
sure just tell him to buy dickies
or gramicci if that works for what he does
Or W28 Carhartt pants that he maybe takes to a tailor
There are a ton of ez options don't overthink it

wait just buy brain dead
The make women’s sizes that are just men’s that are smaller
brain dead is cool but do you want to spend that kind of money for pants you're just going to do work in
I mean this friend clearly doesn’t just want to wear a belt
yeah guess it depends on what you want
I’ve done much work in my braindead jeans
yeah I'm sure
i just wouldn't buy brain dead specifically to do construction and yard work in lmao but different strokes for different folks
it actually is SO easy to just put a few stitches in your jeans waistband
That was my thought about the BBP too. But damn I love the airbrushed overalls personally. Might need to get good at bleach and dyes.
yeah lol but this is for your friend, no?

Yeah, but I'm still opening the links to check the sizing options and for links to send. I don't think he can afford $300 pants but at this point I think he just really wants to find a store he can get SOMETHING from that doesn't need a belt or tailor. I know those are valid options, and those are what he does now, but I also recognise how hurt he is that he can't find anything that fits as-is, like he isn't supposed to exist or something.
Maybe he should talk to a therapist or something lol
He has one
Stan ray legit has 26! Sweet.
I just remembered one
Cookman pants
Elastic goes as small as 22”
And they come in many fits and materials
Whoa, thanks. Those look like a lot of variety, and specific carpenter pants and harvest pants.
