WASAPI error after using IAudioClient Workaround

For reasons I can't seem to diagnose, I've been suffering from the dreaded "Failed to initialize audio client" issue. I've tried several things to try and find the root of the issue (including every suggestion in the GitHub QnA), but to no success. I can at least launch the game when using the IAudioClient workaround, but then I am presented with the WASAPI error, which is only mentioned/associated with VoiceMeeter. I used VM a long time ago, but was not using it at the time the error first appeared. After hours of troubleshooting, I have still found no root cause or solution. I've tried reinstalling VM and messing with settings, I've tried multiple fresh installs, and I've tried several leads from google searches and shots in the dark, all to no avail.

Welcome to #support-forum. Before someone helps you, please first consult the information in #TML Troubleshooting Guide and try all the suggestions that might fit your particular issue, especially in the linked FAQ page. If the information in the pinned thread does not solve your issue, please post all log files by dragging and dropping them into this chat. In Steam right click on tModLoader in the library, then hover over Manage and click on Browse local files. In the folder that appears find tModLoader-Logs and open that folder. Inside that folder are the logs files. Select them all except the Old folder and drag them into this chat. If you need a visual guide to this process watch this: https://github.com/tModLoader/tModLoader/assets/4522492/3f4efa43-753f-4733-b630-ba85e711340c

Dude, I'm going to go ballistic I tried fresh installing on a different drive and it WORKED @devs I have no idea if my solution will help others, but I would maybe suggest adding that to the Q&A? If fresh install doesn't work, try doing it on a different drive? :shrugx: I'm completely at a loss, tbh Despite the game working now, I'm not going to mark this as solved Whatever was happening did have something to do with the files on my drive, but fresh installing both the Terraria and TML on my C: didn't fix it. Doing so on my D: did though. And seeming by the fact that moving drives fixed it, the "audio client" and "WASAPI" issues were false positives? I'm not a programmer, so I have no idea Hope this thread could help other people, at least?
