Anyone know whats going on here? I just updated from the release can didate to the proper beta version of DH, and now the LODs do not render and the outer edge of vanilla chunks are all black.

Having the same issue
Same
Please determine which mod(s) are causing the issue
its not a mod issue, I have disabled every mod but dh and the chunks are still black
deleting the server folder makes it work, though obviously without the previously generated lods
my server folder has these 5 folders. deleting the 3 with the garbled names makes it not black, however it does not appear that the lods work correctly

for reference, I have not been to the end since I have updated dh
is the database in some nonstandard format? the random sqlite database browser I installed can't open my file

Nope, bog standard Sqlite. I use DB Browser or DBeaver generally
Hmm, then I have no idea.
What MC version?
It did it for me on Forge 1.20.1
See if it happens for 1.21.4 (any mod loader)
Alright, just a moment
No LOD (I'm on 1.21.4)
Can you try deleting your config file at .minecraft/config/distant horizons.toml
Mc version is 1.21.4 only thing of interest for me is I was using a beta version off GitHub for a while because there was no public release for 1.21.4 at the time
deleting the config simply moves the dark fog out further

yeah no effect here either
I have the same issue.
Try making a new world, see if it still happens. And make sure dh is the only mod installed, for other people trying it
Mine was working at first. Then I noticed at some point it had stopped working completely. Bright white sky with shaders, that dark shadow border without them, no LoD showing at all.
Wont work on any new worlds either.
Deleting the config doesn't work.
It was Alex's Caves causing the issue for me. Thought that was fixed a while ago.
It only happens with imported LODs but works in singleplayer
a new world functions fine. its one of the first things I tested
Yeshi determined this issue happens when changing dimensions extremely quickly (like a single tick).
If DH doesn't have a chance to load the new level, all levels will be unloaded and this problem will occur.
As a temporary solution: reloading the world or changing dimensions at a normal speed fixes the problem.
