How to use backed up Save File on Heroic?
Hello, I was so far playing my GOG games via Galaxy running with Wine. I've been playing Dying Light specifically. However, it stopped working recently, so I downloaded my save game through Galaxy. Is it possible to import said save game specifically to Heroic? The UI is a bit confusing to me, and I ended up running the game with syncing enabled, but for some reason it didn't fetch my actual save game from GOG's servers, so when I closed the game it probably overwrote the cloud save.
So basically, I want to reoverwrite the cloud save with my actual save that I backed up. Thank you in advance

There are manual upload and download features in the "Cloud save" section of the game settings in Heroic. If you can restore your backups to the game's save location, you can then do a manual upload.

never do sync unless you've verified download/upload works and you've backed up your save. this is why heroic does not do this automatically
in a fresh install, saves are almost always created when you launch the game, and when you do a sync, without forcing a download first, the save just created registers as newer than whats on the server, and thus is uploaded to the cloud save

yeah, that might be what happened. though I made sure to download a save backup from GOG Galaxy and I was uploading that one on heroic, and it still wasnt working

If your save directory is wrong you may have to look up where the right directory is, its different for every game and store 🙃
Heroic tries to pick the right one but this doesnt always work
