HGL not launching games after migrating install

I recently upgraded to a new device (Ally X) And just copied everything over. I am on chimera os. Heroic had zero issues before. I made sure to refresh the exes. It's not even loading amazon, eos, or gog games

To help you, we need a game log. Please see the following images on how to get it.

1. DXVK-NVAPI is enabled. Disable it. 2. Prefix folder is generic. Add the game name after .../Prefixes/default/ 3. You're using Wine-GE. See below

Wine-GE is rather old now (last release is almost a year ago) and thus might not work correctly. Please follow these instructions on using GE-Proton: 1. Head to the Wine Manager in Heroic, click the "Proton-GE" tab, and install "Proton-GE-Latest" 2. Head to the settings for your game(s) (icon on game card in library). In the "Wine Version" dropdown, select "Proton - Proton-GE-latest" 3. Rename your Wineprefix (path is shown in game settings), e.g. from current-name to current-name_bak. To clarify: Rename the actual folder on your hard drive, do not change the option in the game settings. Note: This will make game-specific configuration data (e.g. in-game settings or save files) unavailable. If this is an issue, let us know & we'll help you restore them.

skip step 3 in the wine-ge steps as it is taken care of by step 2 of my list

To clarify this has nothing to do with where the exe is located? Step 2 I mean

2: DXVK-NVAPI, and you're still using Wine-GE

You said step 2 would take care of that?

sorry I wasn't clearer. step 3 of the wine-ge specific instructions, renaming the prefix to be _bak is addressed by step 2 of the earlier set where I have you add the game name

Oh.. man my reading comprehensive is really bad today. My bad My wifi is taking forever to download ge latest, will update when it's downloaded @termdisc had to restart herpic afterwards but that appears to have worked. What does dxvk do? And is there way to apply these settings globally, retroactively, or do I need to go into each game individually

fascinating-indigo3mo ago
DXVK translates DirectX to Vulkan. DXVK-NVAPI adds Nvidia API support. it doesn't hurt to have enabled for AMD, but it also doesn't help. you cannot apply retroactively it seems like you checked the box for "use default wine settings" when importing things in don't use that
