Gamescope HDR color banding

I have the exact same behavior with really aggressive color banding in HDR mode. Different than claimed, the behavior is still present in the latest stable bazzite version. At least for me with 9070. The command --force-composition doesn't do anything for me. Disable the color management in developer options works, but than sdr (so the overlay itself) has totally wrong colors and let my eyes hurt

I start my games through steam game mode normally without start parameters.
Any suggestions to workaround this problem?

Solution
I found the answer by accident. In the developer options of the steam game mode there is an option for "Force Composite". With this enabled the banding is gone and SDR is also flawless.
