looking for big modpacks that work with distant horizons. (not just the perfomance / aesthetic ones)
preferably with a lot of structure mods and exploring

you'll find issues in any large modpack, you just gotta troubleshoot it a little. its fairly easy to find the mods that give distant horizons trouble
the modpack im currently on
is craft to exile 2
and im running it with simple clouds and distant horizons 2.3
what i want to do btw is to generate a lot of LODs and explore it on an eureka airship

now that may be very difficult to pull off considering how troublesome valkyrien skies is
and all its add ons
Vk isn’t supported last I checked
i've seen people make valkyrien skies work with prominence 2 (by deleting a lot of mods and using older versions) but i guess that might not even work and would require a lot of time
I would personally just install mods that look cool then troubleshoot
that's fair
i imagine they want all the actual content that comes from those large modpacks tho
the whole questlines and custom stories and stuff
Generally you can find exactly what you want if you make it yourself

Did you have issues with simple clouds clipping through the LODs?
this is exactly what i want to do but add in the simple clouds mod, it looks so amazing but unfortunately incompatible it seems
terrafirmagreg for 1.20 worked fine for me with dh 2.3.0b after i updated oculus
yeah, simpleclouds is currently working on compatibility but for now if u dont want that issue to occur ya just cant use shaders
