Immich blacklisted a photo that's not a duplicate
I have one photo while very similar are not duplicates. How can I have both photos backed up?

In order to be able to effectively help you, we need you to provide clear information to show what the problem is. The exact details needed vary per case, but here is a list of things to consider:
- Your docker-compose.yml and .env files.
- Logs from all the containers and their status (see above).
- All the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.
- Any recent changes you've made to Immich or your system.
- Details about your system (both software/OS and hardware).
- Details about your storage (filesystems, type of disks, output of commands like fdisk -l and df -h).
- The version of the Immich server, mobile app, and other relevant pieces.
- Any other information that you think might be relevant.
Please paste files and logs with proper code formatting, and especially avoid blurry screenshots.

Is it possible it was uploaded beforehand and is still in the trash?
haha yeah he was trying to get the dog to like him apparently. yes, immich is rejecting one of them and the trash is empty
Could you share the logs as explained in the message above you ticked off?
ok well I figured it out. I had to run a duplicate photo finder against my apple photo library. after changing the md5 hash it's working. no idea why it had the same hash in the 1st place. Thank for your help!
We take the sha1 hash and not the md5 hash 😅
But presumably it changed the file enough to also affect the sha1 hash
But yeah I don't see how it could possibly have the exact same hash, unless you deliberately modified one of the pictures for that
