Can't manually upload pictures through Android app
I have a picture I've saved to my gallery (but not in an album that I back up). I want to manually upload it. If I hit share, upload to immich is an option but if I select it, it opens the app then does nothing!

In order to be able to effectively help you, we need you to provide clear information to show what the problem is. The exact details needed vary per case, but here is a list of things to consider:
- Your docker-compose.yml and .env files.
- Logs from all the containers and their status (see above).
- All the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.
- Any recent changes you've made to Immich or your system.
- Details about your system (both software/OS and hardware).
- Details about your storage (filesystems, type of disks, output of commands like fdisk -l and df -h).
- The version of the Immich server, mobile app, and other relevant pieces.
- Any other information that you think might be relevant.
Please paste files and logs with proper code formatting, and especially avoid blurry screenshots.

If this ticket can be closed you can use the /close command, and re-open it later if needed.Once the app is opened, can you go back to the gallery without closing the app, and try using the upload to Immich option again?
No difference
Confirmed this is a bug, I cannot upload anything through share dialog either, even if the app is open in the background. It shows as uploaded, but it doesn't show up in the timeline

Hmm mine might be slightly different in that it doesn't seem to even attempt the upload

Do you mind capture a screen record?
For me (on latest app) it behaves as such:
- If app is open in the background, it shows the uploading dialog, shows that it succeeds, but actually does nothing.
- If the app isn't open in the background, upon "sharing with immich", it opens the app, flashes the upload screen for about 500ms and then just pops back to the timeline, doesn't upload anything in the background either.
Only notification at the top is the screen recorder
I think the foreground auto upload causes this
Do you mind try disable the automatic foreground backup and try again?

Can you confirm if foreground backup is running when you manually upload? I tested this this on 1.131.3 and I can upload just fine
I'm on 1.131.3 (from play store) as well and it doesn't upload. It shows the status as it uploaded, but actually doesn't show up the photo in the timeline.
Not even with todays date? Mines got uploaded but with an incorrect datetime
Ok, just tested again, it does upload. BUT if I have deleted that asset from immich before and it's sitting in trash, it doesn't upload
So:
- I take a photo, let it sync
- Move that photo to trash on Immich
- Try to reupload that image using share dialog
- Nothing appears in the timeline
But if:
- I upload an image that Immich hasn't seen
- Works correctly
This is expected as an asset with the same hash already exists in the server, it’ll be rejected as a duplicate
