Their balloon cuts have been kinda a brainworm lately, anybody tried any of their stuff?

Also the pintuck maxi trousers, but probably not gambling on all synthetic without trying them first, though their prices are not bad

I liked their stuff in person when I visited them the last time I went to Montreal. The fabrics felt fine for the price.

I was curious too (but more for the shirts), and found this on Reddit about the brand

Yeah I saw that too, though presence of loose threads as a metric for quality is my personal pet peeve But I also just ordered a secondhand pair of the maxi trousers so I am only open to affirming viewpoints in this thread from here on Definitely not a promising fabric blend on those but I like the cut and they were cheap so I’m willing to find out for myself

I went into their shop thinking of them as just slightly above fast fashion, so I had no expectations

Gotcha, based on price point I was imagining them to be similar to like Anglan or Frizmworks

Can you elaborate please? I have no strong understanding or view either way

Yeah I just think that clothing production is mystified for most people (not excluding myself) and loose threads are like “made in USA” or “heavyweight,” like its not the exact signifier of “quality” that people think it is (and quality is hard to define in the first place) Like a button falling off yer shirt doesn’t tell me about the garment as a whole, let alone the entire brand, though I know people are just sharing their experiences Probably also just because I alter a lot of my clothes and I know that leaving a thread untrimmed doesn’t mean the whole thing is gonna unravel on me

Following up on this, they fit and look like the model photos, so happy about that Construction is fine, no issues I can see Fabric is thicker than I expected, with like a slightly felted texture. More like sweats than dress pants. They really hold their shape and aren’t gonna crease (but they’re gonna pill for sure) Mine I guess are slightly older cuz they have 18% wool in the mix, not sure if that makes any diff

I didn't read everything in this thread but I'll add that I've seen some of the pieces on Estudio Niksen for sale on Anglan for far less money they're selling some cheaply made korean pieces I cant speak for everything they're selling, but they aren't designing/producing everything that they're selling and they aren't clear about it not being their own production

Oh shit well I just ordered a few things from them, not seeing anything similar on the Anglan site but that’s good to know

I think they started out as largely a Korean reseller but have their own line and pieces now. I think.

That’s my understanding too. Seen a bunch of stuff secondhand with Estudio Niksen in the listing that’s actually from a Korean brand purchased from them
