Big Man Online Shopping
XXL Top sizing, 44w-30/32L bottom sizing
Looking to see how to more efficiently shop for myself without having to resort to fast fashion.
Budget for single pieces is usually up to 100$ per piece, maybe higher for shoes and jackets.

24000 results for pants in your size
LMAO
(used btw)
id use the filters on the left to narrow down legs - only 475 flagged as 'wide' - or we can use search operators
kyn with the truth nuke as always, but figuring out your measurements for the cuts of clothing you like will do heavy lifting
knowing your preferred waist size is like most important, but also inseam, hem, and rise make a big difference too
same for tops, knowing your shoulder and chest measurements, as well as what length of shirt you like for what kind of outfit
you have a pretty intuitive approach to fashion from how ive seen you dress so far, but these little things will save you headache as you keep orgressing
yeah once you figure out waist, rise, inseam and hem width youre GOLDEN
https://www.ebay.com/sch/57989/i.html?_fsrp=1&_nkw=(cotton%2C%20canvas%2C%20wool%2C%20tweed%2C%20twill)%20(pleated%2C%20wide%2C%20relaxed)%20-tapered%20-taper%20-slim&_sacat=57989&Waist%2520Size=43%2520in|42%2520in|44%2520in&Inseam=31%2520in|30%2520in|32%2520in&_dcat=57989&rt=nc&LH_ItemCondition=3000
this is a filtered down version that has one set of operators looking at fabric words (wool, tweed, twill) and one set for descriptors (relaxed, wide, pleated) and excludes tapered and slim
This was a great truth nuke and i’m going listen and learn this time
the above filtered to results under $40 still yields 1200+ results
but yeah like for me I know i want the waist between N and N+2, the rise to be at least 10", the hem width to preferably be AT LEAST 9 but usually 10+" and the inseam i can work with as long as it's not too short
but my body is guaranteed to be differently shaped than your body AND our preferences are guaranteed to be different
i should be able to hit up an alterationist?? tailor? to get most of these correct
also if these feel stuffy you can yeet a bunch of the stuff i put in above and search for like (double knee, faded, thrashed)
to get the inseam shortened (or possibly let out) and the waist altered, maybe, but you should get comfy measuring your own pants
the only sizing i’ve ever had done was at mens wearhouse lol
dont need to, just a roll measure and a pair of shirt and pants you like the fit of
the best path forward is to pick garms you own and like, grab a measuring tape, and figure out the measurements and write them down
Thanks! need to get a good tape measure and watch a vid for measuring accurately
do you have a yardstick? also works
you can get a tape measure for under 5 bucks at a dollar store
waist is, well, the waist when laid flat
inseam is from the cuff to the crotch seam
rise is from crotch seam to waistband
lemme see if i can't find a reference
if you find stuff that's cheap enough (depop and poshmark also good for cheap stuff!) but long you can always raw hem for extra swag
imma be honest bro this probably sounds like gibberish to levi
this is like mostly right, just slightly different terminology

yes sorry
ALSO!
but shoulder and body width are probably your most important for tops
and this one is solid

ive sometimes included things like ("leg opening", "hem width", "wide leg") in the search parameters that will crawl the description for whether the people actually included those exact measurmeents
but u also wanna know the top of the inseam to the waist (called the rise)
in case u dont know how boolean search works
anything in a given set of parens is searched exclusive of one another, i.e. (blue, black) will search for blue OR black. however, if you search for (blue, black) (jeans, pants) it will search for blue jeans, black jeans, blue pants, black pants.
anything in double quotes will search for the exact phrase, i.e. "leg opening" will not return results for just leg or just opening, but only the word leg followed by the word opening
anything preceded by a minus will be excluded from the search, i.e. a search for blue jeans -slim will search for the words BLUE and JEANS but remove any results with the word SLIM
there are other parameters but those are the main ones used above
also there are brand parameters on the left
anyway
shit i didnt even know this

If you decide you really like some particular search you can save it. You can also get emails sent to you everyday with any new item that matches.
Really good for rarer pieces.
oh yeah
i dont know if id do that for huge catchall searches - i have one for a specific cut of levi's jeans when they were made in mexico for example - but saved searches are goated
ive hit the ebay saved search limit more than once..
This is how I look at God’s most beautiful creatures every morning with coffee (Jamison faire isle sweaters)
Wait that’s a sick feature

Yeah don’t do it for common things or it’s overwhelming. But I really wanted a specific LL bean miUSA barn coat and once I got my terms dialed in getting updates was great.

You can also start to eyeball proportions in flat lays ngl. I can immediately tell now if a suit/blazer has a button stance I won’t like or if pants will have a rise that’s too low.
Doomscroll, make a few cheap mistakes, profit
Hey b
You've gotten some good advice
But since we are the same size (a rare and sexy breed) I've got a few more for you but they're on the pricy side
one sad reality is the style of very wide stuff that I like tends to be harder to find at our size
i’m interested to see
lmfao sorry i got sidetracked on insta
LOL
but im typing dw
Heres a brand list of stuff I wear that I really like
Sillage and Aidama (the best but most expensive) [Aidama pants will not fit over the belly but sillage will]
Los Angeles Apparel (good quality basics for the price. I especially like their heavyweight tees which look very rigid although I'm moving into their lighter weights as I get more comfortable with my curves showing). XXL and XXXL for oversize
Garuda SS (especially on sale these are a fucking steal for their more avant garde stuff. designed especially to fit huge sizes especially in their size 3 and size 4)
JCrew XXL Relaxed Fit linen shirts and giant fit pants/shirts
and then frankly asos has some okay stuff as long as you watch out for shitty materials
but lots of big sizes
which doesnt respond to your desire to stay away from fast fashion
but I dont ever listen to you anyways
because I cant understand your accent
@levi (wee wullie)
LMAO thank you for all the help i appreciate you, as always
