Is there a way to change the background colour displayed behind transparent pngs?

I am hoping to use Immich as a browser for 2d assets and a lot of them are transparent PNG's of patterns, the lines of which are black. Black lines on a black background is.. not great.

I did, but when I click into the image to view it full size it still shows a black background

The thumbnail is actually fine, it's only if I want to view the image to see details that it's black.

To be clear, which the png is, it consists only of pure black lines, and pure transparent pixels. So a black background will just look like that

I've never used Immich before though so I'm unsure how to word a report? Like what is it supposed to look like?

Hi, I'm a very happy Immich user (and a happy Server-Supporter :-). I did run into the same issue. I found this Is there a way to change the background colour displayed behind transparent pngs? github thread that is describing what I think is the same issue, albeit in regards to PSD files including transparancy and not PNG. I checked the sharp library (https://sharp.pixelplumbing.com/api-operation/#flatten) and I think it should be possible to tweak the function creating the previews so that the flatten() function creats a white background instead of a black one. I would like to give it a shot by manually changig the docker container files but I'm unsure where to edit this. I think it might be in the media.serivce.ts ? Maybe the devs could give us a hint where to add the .flatten({ background: '#FFFFFF' })? Thanks
