Is there a way to change the background colour displayed behind transparent pngs?

I am hoping to use Immich as a browser for 2d assets and a lot of them are transparent PNG's of patterns, the lines of which are black. Black lines on a black background is.. not great.

I did, but when I click into the image to view it full size it still shows a black background

The thumbnail is actually fine, it's only if I want to view the image to see details that it's black.

To be clear, which the png is, it consists only of pure black lines, and pure transparent pixels. So a black background will just look like that I've never used Immich before though so I'm unsure how to word a report? Like what is it supposed to look like?
