Heroic failing to update game and game won't launch

After clicking the "Click to update" text, I get Update Started and Update Finished prompts, and then the "Click to update" text returns. The game also won't launch and I am wondering if this is the reason. "Force Update if available" and "Verify and Repair" don't seem to have any effect.

hmmm, the log from legendary won't upload. Looking through it it just shows my library as a list. Heroic logs show the following

I have also discovered that if I press play now instead of update, I get this prompt If I press no, then the game will launch properly.

If I press Yes then the game fails to update again, and the game is unlaunchable until the update message comes back.

We're gonna need a Legendary log file from after you tried to update, can't really say what's wrong without one
