I've already used this fix. Followed every step, I have the .bat downloaded put in the right place. I have the fix.bat set as the alternative exe. It launches to the rockstar launcher and fails to initalize battleye service

Under Wine Manager, it's set to GE-Proton-Latest which is also GE-Proton9-27

I'm fresh installing to see if that fixes anything, I'll enable verbose logging and send the log when I launch it up. My question was that I failed to initalize and it brings me to an error screen on rockstar launcher and that's as far as it gets. It doesn't launch up anything else

verifying files is more efficient than reinstalling because the game is like 100GB
also deleting the prefix is even more efficient than that

I launch through heroic, wait about it ~15 seconds it starts connecting to rockstar services, then goes to the launcher and I get the error

you should still have it even though you uninstalled
I just loaded it, and it still gets me to the main menu

This is as far as I get, safe mode does the same error. I've already followed the steps for the fix fully.

Unable to open log, it redirects me to heroic's general log. not sure if this is helpful but this was the only log I was able to get

Thank you that was semi the fix. proton-ge just refused to launch it all together, but proton experimental works. Thank you for the answer
