Chinese contemporary fashion:
Hello. What's Chinese contemporary fashion like? How does it change depending on region? What were your experiences with it like, if you had any?

High fashion? Street fashion? The average dressed people?

I posted in that archived thread but you can look for Shanghai Fashion Week runways and brands
China's a big country. Would help with more context. Why are ya asking?
All three.
I was mostly wanting to ask about 21st century urban Chinese fashion in regions like Guangzhou and Shanghai, though I wouldn't mind hearing about it in more rural/industrial areas too.
I'm asking out of pure curiosity really
It's a broad question. But like any city or country, the industry informs the culture. Shanghai is more cosmopolitan so it will have more outside influence, that's my guess. Guangzhou is very industrial and also metropolitan.
Probably doesn't matter these days. China's very digitally savvy so it all happens online.
Follow your faves on xiaohongshu, tiktok, and IG honestly
there are tons of chinese street style accounts, for better or worse
i like the komune website for introductions to chinese brands i havent see before (komune.space)
this still doesnt narrow it down lol. each of those areas has more people than some countries
If you just want to browse and aren't looking for something specific, awz's advice is your best option
How much more specific do I have to get?
What's urban street wear like in Shanghai?
Like others have said, if you just want to see what people in general are wearing, browsing Chinese social media is your best bet. If that's not what you're looking for, you have to be more specific in terms of fashion interests. It's hard to answer your question because "urban street wear" is extremely vague. What are current style trends, what are popular brands, etc. are easier to answer
Oh, got it.
What are the big current style trends and popular brands?
uniqlo
What about Shanghai?
uniqlo
you said you were just curious, but you keep asking about Shanghai which makes me think you have a more specific question or answer you're looking for
I am just curious, I'm just specifying Shanghai because I thought it'd be easier to get answers that way
uniqlo
is anybody listening to me
some times i feel like i just talk and talk and no one hears it
it’s like when you’re in a dream screaming at someone that something bad is about to happen but no one can hear you scream
that’s the nature of dreams i guess
recently i had a dream that i went into a bathroom and all the toilets were really high up
the stalls were full of people who knew how to get up on those high toilets but no one told me
it was like i was born missing some crucial information that everybody else had
Pinkkea are you ok
:yea:
u got some great answers with checking out social media, komune, etc. Id also rec checking out street photography of Shanghai fashion week.
This isn't a China focused space tho and you're asking for fashion rundowns on entire regions (that, again, have larger populations than many countries)
ok this is the last interaction I'm going to give this thread since this isn't even for personal wear, it's for character design, which you've had discourse over in the past about how it doesn't have to be completely reliant on real world fashion. Just look up walking tours of w.e city you want... ex: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hY3a2h-ktnk

Hey, friends, nice to see you again!
I come to Shanghai once a year because it is the economic center of China.
I have many partners in Shanghai. Every time I come to Shanghai, they will tell me that interesting things have appeared somewhere in Shanghai and suggest that I must go and see them.
Shanghai is really the innovation center of Chi...
It's really not about character design either
