Setting my soundbar to Optical on Bazzit
Hello, I can use my soundbar via jack by plugging it into the jack output of my DisplayPort screen, but I'd like to know if it's possible to use the Optical output (which works on Windows)?
Thank you for your help.
P.S. Sorry for any mistakes; I'm a French person and not very good at English, haha.

You mean via a Toslink cable?
Sure
Should work fine
if your PC has a toslink output it should be supported by linux
yes indeed TOSLINK ... and it works perfectly via Windows, but not here... any configuration to do?
toslink has no autol detection IIRC
so you have to just set it yourself
give me one moment
can you manually switch to optical out?
in your DE settings?
I'm a real newb, how do I do this? (and thanks for the help and patience)
KDE or GNOME?
KDE
Check System Settings->Sound
What does it show there?
Family...HD Audio Controller Hedphones .
Family...HD Audio Controller Line Out .
GP102 HDMI Audio Controller Digital Stereo (HDMI2 )
You need to check the ports
and change the profile probably to digital
It only works via the jack, still nothing when using OPT
Can you screen share in a voice call? Might be easier to help you
Sorry, I don't speak much English ^^'
I just need to see your screen, don't need to talk 😛
