ipvlan setup
beginner here, sorry. i'm trying to setup my immich container to have its own static ip on my home network's subnet. i think i set this up with dcoker's ipvlan network driver, but how do i do this? i can't find any documentation about setting it in the docker-compose yaml.

Information
In order to be able to effectively help you, we need you to provide clear information to show what the problem is. The exact details needed vary per case, but here is a list of things to consider:
- Your docker-compose.yml and .env files.
- Logs from all the containers and their status (see above).
- All the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.
- Any recent changes you've made to Immich or your system.
- Details about your system (both software/OS and hardware).
- Details about your storage (filesystems, type of disks, output of commands like fdisk -l
and df -h
).
- The version of the Immich server, mobile app, and other relevant pieces.
- Any other information that you think might be relevant.
Please paste files and logs with proper code formatting, and especially avoid blurry screenshots.
Without the right information we can't work out what the problem is. Help us help you ;)
If this ticket can be closed you can use the /close
command, and re-open it later if needed. This isn't Immich specific, the documentation you're looking for would be in docker-compose's docs
i know i checked there
i'm just asking here because i'm assuming people on this server would have the knowledge on how to do it
Most generally use a reverse proxy to expose immich
What are you trying to solve / accomplish with this?
i want to give all of my containers their own ips so i can give them their own domains on a private dns server i’m setting up
i looked into a reverse proxy but i dont want to have to funnel all my traffic throught it
cuz bottlenecking
A reverse proxy isn't gonna bottleneck you in any meaningful way
even if i'm running it off a raspberry pi 3? it only has a max throughput of 300mbps
or would i run the reverse proxy off of my server itself
you'd usually run it wherever you're running all the docker things
ah ok
and then i can just map domains to specific ports on the server?
and then does it essentially act like a dns server? will it forward requests to other domains (e.g. google.com) that i don't have in my config to a different dns server?
You should Google to learn what a reverseproxy is
