starsector for linux does not launch in heroic flatpak

Startup file being starsector.sh, it does not launch when running it from flatpak heroic, it launches flawlessly under Steam. I adjusted flatpak permissions to read and write my $HOME and system as well as binaries, as well as enabling Steam Runtime. It did not work. Hoping anyone can help me fix this issue!
