I apologize for the n00b question
Ok, so I think this is just the bot I am looking for, but it is complex. I am in the documentation, but before I start fiddling, I'd like to make sure what I'm going to try to do is possible.

I have a large server, with many channels. They are divided into many categories. My hope is to be able to make a starboard per category.
I aim to make these "mutually exclusive" areas. It looks like I want to try "overrides" but I'm not 100% sure that that is correct.
In the end, I'm aiming for something like this:
Starboard #1
Channel #1
Channel #2
Channel #3
Starboard #2
Channel #4
Channel #5
Channel #6
And I want starred posts from channels 1-3 only to go to starboard 1 only, all the way through the server. 1) Am I correct in thinking this is possible with this bot, and 2) What's the basic procedure? Create a starboard (I got that far lol), then what would I want to do then?
I will keep reading the documentation, but doing this the way I intend hasn't particularly jumped out at me from the documentation, but I'm still looking.
Yes this is possible. Yes you want overrides. Note that you can only have up to 3 Starboards without premium
Yes, I will definitely need Premium and its precious 20 starboards for this lol
Looking at the documentation (and I can be very dense, and I'm sorry for that), I can see that I can "create an override," and then I can see that I can "set channels for a created override," but I feel like I'm missing a step. Where do you tell an override to do something?
An override changes the settings for a starboard based on the channels. So you created it for a starboard, set the channels, then set settings on it like you would a starboard
In this case, you would set enabled to false for the starboard, then set enabled to true on the override
Ah! Now I think I understand the whole bot.
Very good, now I think I get it.
Excellent way to do it, from a logical perspective, I now see. I just hadn't yet connected the dots. I will go and play with it, see how it goes. Thank you, I look forward to becoming a patron shortly.
Lmk if you have any other questions or problems
Thank you for your help 🙏 . I set up a test Starboard, and an A/B test of a message inside and outside the overridden channel set, seems to confirm that it's doing just as expected. Many thanks!
It's a lovely bot.
Ok, I have joined as a patron now, thank you again for your assistance.
